Carolina Marketing Company, Inc. is always looking for great story ideas, freelance writers and photographers. Our internship program offers students the opportunity to write articles for our publication, website and blogs and to learn about the editorial process, including copy editing, proofreading and general magazine production. Interns will be able to produce clips, which may include news items, profiles, briefs, and features.
The working environment is relaxed and informal. Interns work an average of 12 hours per week, for a period of 12-15 weeks. Hours and start/stop dates are flexible. One intern per semester is accepted.
Application:The internship is best suited to undergraduates interested in print journalism. Internship periods are approximately: Fall(Sept-Dec), Winter/Spring (Jan-Apr), and Summer (May-Aug). Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Photography interns will be covering local events, the attending guests and will be responsible for gathering the names of the people photographed, preparing the images for publication and making sure Carolina Marketing Company, Inc. gets them in a high resolution, edited format. Additionally, photography interns will be given the opportunity to assist on fashion and editorial shoots. A successful intern will be offered more substantial work as time progresses. This is an unpaid internship. Candidates for this internship will be responsible and enthusiastic and able to maintain a sense of professionalism. This internship is a great way to build up your portfolio, get editorial experience and network on the Cape Fear Coast of North Carolina. A major in marketing or communications is preferred. Interns have the opportunity to learn the many different facets of magazine marketing, public relations, event execution, circulation and business planning. They assist in creating and executing communications and marketing strategies, researching and coordinating mailings, arranging PR activities, updating website listings, and coordinating special events.
